p1: Summer and Autumn are walking. Summer looks concerned, while Autumn lightly grimaces and looks at the ceiling. Summer: Seriously, are you feeling ok? Outside of work you haven’t left the house in forever. Autumn: Look, don’t worry about me. I’m just a little… at odds with society these days. p2: They emerge from the hallway that leads from Autumn’s room to their living room. Summer frowns in the doorway as Autumn begins to clamber over the couch. S: I’d worry less if you hadn’t phrased that like you’re gonna end up on the news. A: No no I just mean like, I’m kind of a mess right now, y’know? Stuck in my little mental circles all the time. p3: Autumn flops onto the couch stomach-down, arms hanging limply over the cushion. A: I just keep fixating on all the ways I’m failing at being a complete person… and since that’s all I’m thinking about, it’s all I can talk about too. I’m getting sick of subjecting the people around me to the most neurotic version of myself. p4: Autumn rolls onto their back from one side of the couch to the other, while Summer leans on the back of the couch and smirks. A: So for now I figure my best course of action is to stay home and practice not thinking about things until I become normal. S: That might take a while. — Nothing Doing no. 47
