What's wrong with Skylark Esta (Hoodi, Whitefield)

The rent that is being charged for Skylark Esta (Hoodi, Whitefield) is upwards of 70,000 per month for a 3BHK.

Here's a few issues that has been noticed with Skylark Esta:

  • Bad build quality. Plaster falling down from ceiling has been reported from multiple units. Some units have the door frame come off from the wall because it was poorly plastered. If you are not careful when inspecting the apartment, the owner might charge you saying that you damaged the door frame by rash usage. Same thing with flush button. All of them are old and rusty at this point. Point this out to the owner and get it in writing that they are at the point of breakage and if it breaks it's the owner's responsiblity to fix it.
The flush button costs around 2.4k and I know someone who had to replace two of them within the first four months of renting. This is in addition to paying the exorbitant amount of rent.

  • Repeated water supply issues. There has been atleast one day of water supply distruption per month in past few months. This is also probably due to poor quality of the plumbing materials/equipments used.

  • Excessive road noise on west side of B block. Some road noise is present in west side of A block as well. Check well before buying/renting.

  • Only one lift is operational from 6AM to 12PM for a building with 19 floors. Lift wait time during office rush hours is 5-10 minutes. The other lift is exclusively allocated for garbage collection even during the rush hour. The lift which is allocated for garbage is open for public usage after 12PM, but it smells of garbage throughout the day. This is because instead of using lidded garbage bins to transport the waste, they use the lift itself as a large garbage bin.

Skylark Mansions is the builder of this project. If you are planning to buy a new unit from them, double check. Because the build quality is really low.
