Linux Crisis Tools

https://www.brendangregg.com/blog/2024-03-24/linux-crisis-tools.html

Summary: Brendan Gregg's blog post discusses the importance of pre-installing Linux crisis tools to quickly diagnose performance issues during outages. He provides a list of recommended tools and their package names for Ubuntu, including procps, util-linux, sysstat, iproute2, numactl, tcpdump, linux-tools-common, bpfcc-tools, bpftrace, trace-cmd, nicstat, ethtool, tiptop, cpuid, and msr-tools. Gregg suggests that Linux distros should add these tools to their enterprise variants to help companies address performance outages more efficiently.

https://bmjoncology.bmj.com/content/2/1/e000049#DC1

Summary: A study based on the Global Burden of Disease 2019 data reveals a 79.1% increase in early-onset cancer incidence and a 27.7% increase in related deaths between 1990 and 2019. Early-onset breast, tracheal, bronchus, lung, stomach, and colorectal cancers had the highest mortality and disability-adjusted life years in 2019. Dietary risk factors, alcohol consumption, and tobacco use were identified as the main risk factors for early-onset cancers. The study highlights the need for promoting a healthy lifestyle to reduce the disease burden.
