AT&T Wireless traffic shaping apparently making some websites unusable

https://adriano.fyi/post/2023/2023-04-16-att-traffic-shaping-makes-websites-unusable/

Summary: According to Adriano Caloiaro's blog post on April 16, 2023, AT&T's traffic shaping is causing some websites to become unusable. Caloiaro noticed that multiple websites were slow when browsing with his AT&T business plan, despite being far below the 50GB of monthly Fast Track data. A speed test revealed reasonable speeds, but resources from cloudfront.com were taking multiple seconds to load. After conducting tests on Cloudfront with an unlimited Verizon Business SIM card, Caloiaro concluded that the problem was not with Cloudfront, but with AT&T's traffic shaping. Caloiaro also tested his iPhone on the same AT&T business account and found that the problem was not with all of AT&T wireless.

I liked this simple calculus exercise

https://blog.plover.com/math/se/calculus-exercise.html

Summary: The author of the article discusses a recent calculus exercise posted on Math SE, which involves computing the value of an integral. The author praises the exercise for requiring students to understand the concept of integration, rather than just relying on memorized rules. The integral in question involves a complicated exponent, but by graphing the function and understanding its periodicity, the author shows how to solve the problem. The author concludes by suggesting that students can learn useful techniques by breaking complicated functions into simple parts and dealing with them separately.
