Hit Subscribe State of the Business July 2024
This is a transcript for Hit Subscribe's monthly state of the business meeting. This transcript has been edited for clarity, see raw notes and listen to the recording here and view the deck here
Announcements:
I saw the mailing list emails going out again, and it seems like there’s more content moving through than before. This seems like a good time to announce that we have a relatively strong chance of landing some major new client deals. Our established clients are working through backlogs and gearing up for more orders. This means we’ll likely have more content on the horizon for the second half of the year. The market for content and digital marketing is more favorable now than it was a year ago.
Hiring Update:
When Erin returns from vacation, we’re looking to hire an SDR (Sales Development Representative). This will be an entry-level, part-time, contract-to-hire position, helping keep our CRM organized, coordinating sales calls, and providing sales support. This role could eventually lead to actual sales calls and perhaps commissioned sales. If you or anyone you know is interested, please reach out to Erin after Monday when she’s back in the office.
Team Page Feature:
If you’re doing any work for us in good standing and want to be featured on the website team page, please submit a bio and a headshot to Gavi. I’m responsible for CMS administration, so there might be a delay, but I will get them done in batches.
Opportunities:
We still have the referral program. If you facilitate a warm introduction to someone who becomes a client, we’ll pay you 10% of the first year’s revenue with that client. If there’s a conflict of interest, we can give the discount to the client instead.
To make referrals easier, I’ve included a slide explaining situations where Hit Subscribe could help. For example, if someone thinks the algorithm killed their traffic, you can refer them to an article on our site explaining what might have happened. We can also do a consultation to diagnose their traffic issues. This initial engagement can lead to more business, making it an easy way to earn referral income.
Showcase Files Concept:
We haven’t published any additional content recently, but we got an article published by Theo. Thank you, Theo. We’re creating an operating procedure for publishing and syndicating these articles. Tracy will be more involved going forward, helping with community and social media and organizing this program.
If you want to blog about using a developer tool, we consider that showcase content. We hope that by linking to and promoting the brand, it will generate leads. We’ll pay authors for this content and also offer a rev share if it results in business. Tracy will be talking to you about this and helping organize and publish the content.
