I <3 Newsletters
So here’s the humiliating truth. I *love* a newsletter.

So here’s the humiliating truth. I love a newsletter.

They’re kinda like gremlins for your inbox - they’re fun, they can be anything, and they don’t follow the rules. They’re the original bad boys of email, baby!
These days, I’ve become a bonafide newsletter freak. I subscribe to... more than I can count / possibly keep up with?

But this wasn’t always the case! I wasn’t always evangelizing the inbox gremlin to friends and strangers, raving wild-eyed about 70s sci-fi art, animation history, musings by authors I like and well-researched local news.
Recently, I’ve done my best to stay off social media because it makes my brain Feel Bad™ (I’m unique in this way). And as much as it makes my brain Feel Better™ when I delete the apps, I also miss the good parts.
The artists I follow. The news that slips through the cracks. The personal projects my friends are making. Sharing my own projects, especially the ones that aren’t tied to my career as Hollywood crumbles. Being in community.
So I started signing up for people’s newsletters. And lemme tell ‘ya folks, it’s a delight! Instead of entering a feel bad vortex that also constantly markets you a $60 shirt patterned with cowboys fighting giant spiders (just me?), you can invite the stuff that makes you feel good... right into your inbox!
Which is exactly what I’m aiming to do with this newsletter.
The shape of it may change over time, but the point is to share about the creative projects I’m working on, the stuff that inspires me, and whatever else passes through my brain that’s decidedly not driven by an algorithm.

Whatever got you here, I hope this newsletter serves as a pocket of respite in your day. That's how I'm gonna treat writing it! Because it's hard out there for so many people right now, and I've found that cultivating little pockets of creativity and joy throughout the day can go a long way.
So welcome to my Inbox Gremlin (official title), thank you for being here, and I hope you get a little feel good out of your future visits!
Oh, and let me know if you have any good newsletter recs?
