Hi Baltimore/DC friends!

You know the movie "Elf"?

Apparently they made a musical out of it! And we're performing it here in Baltimore.

I'll be there on these dates:

• Friday Dec 1
• Sunday Dec 3
• Friday Dec 8
• Sunday Dec 10

(I will NOT be at the other two show dates: Saturday Dec 2 and Saturday Dec 9)

I'll be up in the tech booth, doing "AV tech"

What is AV tech? AV means "Audio/Visual". In theater, there are three specialization tracks: "lighting", "audio" (especially mics), and "projections". Each of these specialties has its own special fancy software to learn, and often massive hardware boards with specialized keyboards and sliders. It's a lot to learn! I'm dabbling in all three.

AV tech is fun! It's a lot like programming, but more artsy.

How did I get into it? I've been doing some tech for the Baltimore Improv Group Theater over the past year. They taught me the basics, and in return I've been volunteering a bunch.

This is my first musical I'm doing AV tech for! Third Wall Theater is the community theater I performed in last spring for Guys and Dolls - they're such a great group :)
