"Now Westlin Winds" by Chris Brain

This is the return of Song of the Week, and for those of you who remember from a previous Instagram account I had, Abstract Album Artwork!

The almighty algorithm came through this week and showed me a reel of the Yorkshire folk artist Chris Brain performing his version of the Dick Gaughan song "Now Westlin Winds".

This performance is masterful, and I prefer it to the recorded version, but only in the way I preferred Nick Drake's solo acoustic renditions of his songs, even though the album versions are still beautiful.
