Thank you for being part of the Open Food Network. Whether you're new here or an old friend, you know that there's something different about OFN - we're not only "software users" or "tech support" - we are all part of a global community of folks who are determined to build a food system and a world that's powered by cooperation, generosity, kindness, transparency, and darn good ethical software.
In the interest of that transparency: yes, we're joining the crowd of deserving nonprofits asking for a contribution at this time of year. We don't run on venture funding or high fees for users that get passed along to customers: we depend on you and other like-minded contributors to keep the lights on. We hope you will consider pitching in to help us do our work.
Giving Tuesday is a global movement that harnesses the power of generosity to support meaningful causes. It's a day dedicated to giving back and making an impact in the world. This year, on November 28th, we encourage you to be a part of this movement by supporting the Open Food Network's not-for-profit initiatives.
How Your Support Makes a Difference:
Your generosity enables us to continue our work in providing open source software, resources, and a global commons that empower farmers, producers, and communities to create a fair, local, and transparent food system. Your donations help us foster relationships, promote regenerative agriculture, and advocate for systemic change toward a sustainable future.
Ways to Support: There are lots of ways you can support us on Giving Tuesday and all year:
With your help, we can do more to shape a future where everyone can access fresh, local, and ethically sourced food.

Thank you for being a valued part of our community and considering Open Food Network on this impactful day of giving and every day.
We don't gatekeep access to our software - that doesn't mean it's free for us to create, maintain, or support. It means we're trusting you to contribute at a level that works for you, knowing that our suggested amounts can work out to about a quarter of what you'd expect to pay to use another platform with similar functionality. When you contribute at higher levels, you help us support other folks who are just starting out or are in historically excluded communities.
A better world is a team effort. Please do what you can.
Renew your support through the OFN Shop or learn more about our initiatives here.
Empowering Local Supply Chains: Your support directly aids in building tools that foster successful local supply chains.
Open Source Code: Our open-source code is freely available for everyone, but maintaining it and running servers require financial resources.
Global Movement: You're part of a global movement reshaping how communities source and distribute food sustainably.
Resource Allocation: Funds contribute to the international team developing the software platform, maintaining infrastructure, and spreading awareness about the Open Food Network.
