Today is #GivingTuesday — a global day of generosity, connection, and community. At Open Food Network USA, we’re reaching out to share a heartfelt invitation to join us in reshaping the food system for the better.
Our nonprofit is dedicated to creating tools, resources, and networks that empower local food producers and communities to thrive. Together, we’re working toward a food system that’s fair, local, and transparent.
OUR COMMUNITY IS WHAT KEEPS US ALIVE. WE NEED YOUR HELP AND CONTRIBUTIONS TO CONTINUE CHANGING THE FOOD SYSTEM FOR THE BETTERMENT OF US AND OUR PLANET.
Dear OFN Users,
It's summer and you are working hard, so we'll make this quick: it's time to pitch in. If you have already pitched in, we encourage you to keep reading and consider whether you can afford a bit more.
...and we're back! Ringing in the new year with new features, fresh opportunities for collaboration, and a whole lot of chilly weather depending on where you are in the country.
A little note from Laurie: in this newsletter we want to tell you about a sweet new tool for communities that you can use, share a couple of new OFN features, and give you some ways to support OFN so we can keep bringing you these newsletters...and oh yah, the most beloved open source food-oriented e-commerce platform in all the universe (honest, your contributions keep OFN alive and are a great investment in the future of community-based food security). We appreciate you!
Thank you for being part of the Open Food Network. Whether you're new here or an old friend, you know that there's something different about OFN - we're not only "software users" or "tech support" - we are all part of a global community of folks who are determined to build a food system and a world that's powered by cooperation, generosity, kindness, transparency, and darn good ethical software.
In the interest of that transparency: yes, we're joining the crowd of deserving nonprofits asking for a contribution at this time of year. We don't run on venture funding or high fees for users that get passed along to customers: we depend on you and other like-minded contributors to keep the lights on. We hope you will consider pitching in to help us do our work.
