January Updates
Hi folks! It's hard to believe we're already a month into the new year. If you're new here, or you missed it in the previous updates, we are currently aiming for an official GB launch of the Theseus75 project in Q1 of this year—so let's get right into updates!
TL;DR: PCB refinements are in progress, blue colorway and plate extras are in, and the site is nearly complete. 🚀
- As mentioned last month, we are currently working on a few PCB refinements to better support the USB hub functionality (which is a tricky thing for a split!), so again: big shout-out to @ebastler for all his support. I couldn't have realized this project without him. 🙌
- The Poseidon (blue anodized) case samples finally came in, and they. are. beautiful. ✨ Of all the colorways that were announced, this was the only color that was not one of the manufacturer's stock finishes, so naturally I was anxious to see how it would turn out—but it did not disappoint. I can't wait to see what crazy keycap color combos you all come up with for this one!
- Along with the case, I also received samples of all the different plate materials that will be available as extras: brass, aluminum, polycarbonate, carbon fiber, and POM. Expect sound tests in the coming weeks. 🎙️
- The landing pages for the project are nearly complete. They should include all the possible specs and details about the board, as well as address the most frequently-asked questions. Looking forward to the launch! 🚀
Lastly, with Lunar New Year beginning on February 10th, most manufacturers will be on holiday celebrating the festival; so although sample production will be on hold during that time, rest assured that we'll be staying busy bringing this project (and others in the works) to life. 🫶
