Happy New Year 2025!
As we step into this new year, our hearts are full of gratitude for the Lord's unending goodness. So much can happen in a year, and the busyness of life often makes it easy to overlook the blessings around us.
Today, we take a moment to reflect on the journey so far, and it's clear there is so much to thank God for. Here's to a hopeful and blessed year ahead!
Across all three pillars at Happy Life Mission, we have seen tremendous growth and hit quite a number of milestones.
It has been 22 years since Happy Life Children’s Home opened its doors to our first three abandoned babies. As we mark the rescue and care of over 1000 children by October 2024, we are amazed and awed by the God’s mercies and provision that has helped us care for each of these children.
Our achievements so far:
Rescue Pillar:
Good health for both our staff and children throughout the year.
Rescued 40 children in 2024, providing them with a safe and loving environment.
Facilitated the adoption of 10 children, placing them in stable and nurturing homes.
Reintegrated 22 children with their biological families, ensuring they return to environments equipped to support them.
Moved 16 boys and girls from the Roysambu Baby Centre to the Juja Farm Campus to start school in January 2025.
Hosted volunteer groups and individuals who supported us in caring for the children.
We have a soccer team! We’re proud of our boys who have so far participated in tournaments with some of the teams from the local community.
Education Pillar:
In April 2024, we kicked off Vocational Training for students who have completed high school. This is in addition to the beadwork and weaving training that our children have been undertaking for some time now.
Smooth running of school periods.
We’re proud of two of our young men who recently completed their High school studies; they’re looking forward to joining College next year to pursue their dreams.
We have students in college! Daniel, David and Fred joined College this year which is for sure a great highlight!
We began construction of the multipurpose hall at Faith Premier High School.
The Health Pillar:
Been able to provide quality healthcare to the local communities in the different Jesse Kay branches.
Plans are underway towards opening the doors of the Jesse Kay School of Health Sciences in January 2025 to start training Nurse Assistants. This is in line with our commitment to improving healthcare.
Ongoing construction of the new Jesse Kay Hospital which will provide specialized and critical care to the local community.
We look forward to an even better year ahead and pray that we continue journeying together as we give hope and transformation to these children.
Your support changes lives
Each of these milestones and dreams has been made possible by your continued generosity. But the journey is far from over. To complete these projects and expand our impact, we need your support more than ever.
We extend our deepest gratitude to every friend and partner who has walked this journey with us. Together, we have changed lives, restored families, and provided hope to countless children.
As you journey with us here, remember: every rescued child, every academic triumph, and every family reunion is a testament to the love and support you have shared.
We praise God for:
- We ended the year in victory and in good health among the children and staff.
- Our high school posted encouraging results in our end of 2024 national exams. At least 8 of our students made the score for university entry with almost all the others qualifying for middle level colleges/tech schools. We are proud of them and our teachers.
- Sixteen toddlers joined school at the Juja Campus.
Prayer Requests for:
- Good health this year for all of our Mission community.
- Provision of funds to construct the next floor of our dormitory. The Juja campus is at capacity.
-For completion of our multipurpose hall in the high school and for the appliances.
Psalm 121:2
My help comes from the Lord,
Who made heaven and earth.
