There used to be a time where illustration was more of a by-product of board games... something that seemed to be hastily added at the end of production, but that has really shifted in a big way in the last 5-6 years. I think CMYK Games has probably been at the forefront there, which has only been cemented by their recent 'remastering' of Magical Athlete which thanks to Angela Kirkwood's illustrations is pretty much half the reason I want to play it every day. Anyway, this is a long way to say that board game illustration is very very good now. Case in point, our pick of the week for the latest Parks edition for Europe featuring this lovely work by Carlotta Notaro. Definitely a case for putting those board games proudly on display!
