MCM LONDON COMIC CON

I can confirm that I will be at London MCM Comic Con this 22nd-24th May! We haven’t yet been told our table numbers but I will be in Artist Alley with all my books and merch as per usual.

TORONTO COMICS and ARTS FAIR

And just a couple of weeks after, I will in Toronto for TCAF on June 6th and 7th!

DRINK AND DRAW

I took part in Gosh Comics and Broken Frontier’s Drink and Draw last week with other guest artists Mark Strafford and Olivia Sullivan. I had to submit a “theme” and mine was “You Have Been Commissioned to Draw the New Cover for “How to Draw Manga” and here was my entry! SO MUCH DRAMA!

It was a fabulous event and if you’re in or near London, I highly recommend going! I’ll definitely be going back!

KIDSCREEN ON THE FCC KID’S TV INQUIRY

Last week, Kidscreen ran a story about the FCC's latest inquiry into the TV ratings system targeting LGBTQ representation in kids programming. They reached out to me for comment and I made my thoughts known. The entire article can be read below with a Kidscreen account, but here are my comments in full:

LGBTQIA+ people are born in every corner and culture on Earth. Nobody gets a warning or an option to opt out of their child being queer. Anybody who feels they can change that is unfit to raise a child. Those who ban their children from watching diverse and inclusive programming are the ones who need to watch it the most. I grew up when there wasn't any queer representation on kids tv and the harm that does is incomparable to what these frightened, little bigots are trying to do to the next generation. The GOP will call a non-binary cow in a children's cartoon harmful, but having a president who socialized with pedophiles is a-ok! That letting school shootings happen every day is freedom! That bombing children in far off countries is the American way! These people are pathetic. They don't care about children at all. Shame on them.

KIDS COMICS POP-UP IN LONDON

Waterstones London Piccadilly Circus currently has a pop-up in their basement floor dedicated to kid’s comics! This is so great specifically because kid’s comics aren’t as big of a think in the UK as they are in the US and elsewhere. I really hope this has been a big success for them as I’d love this to become a regular or permanent fixture!

I made a video about it after seeing Go-Man so prominently displayed!
