APRIL 2025 - Conventions and Commissions!

Hey everyone! Welcome to my third newsletter! This will be going out the same day as the Nintendo Switch 2 presentation and as a lifelong Nintendo superfan, I’m sure I am jumping up and down with excitement (at least I hope so, I am typing this up beforehand!)
Things are going ok for me - my projects which took a long time to start are finally kicking into gear. But I am still not out of the dark. I’ve recently completed a number of commissions and I am interested in doing some more! So if you wanna get one, keep reading!
Today’s headlines are:
Conventions for 2025!
Commissions!
Other ways to support me!
Go-Man Launch Plans!
CONVENTIONS FOR 2025!
So I need to get the bad news out of the way first. For a number of obvious (or should that be orange) reasons, I have been persuaded not to do a tour of the United States this year. It breaks my heart because I have so enjoyed my last few years doing so. I fully intend to be back soon but this year I am going to be focussing on UK events. That is not to say there won’t be an US ones at all - Union Square and I have already been discussing all kinds of ways to do digital events for you guys.
As for UK events, I have a few I can already confirm, some starting as soon as next month.
So far, here is what I have planned, with the appropriate links to get tickets:
MAY 10: Fine Lines Festival
University of Gloucestershire, Cheltenham, UKNOV 15-16: Thought Bubble
Harrogate Convention Centre, Harrogate, UKCOMMISSIONS!
I recently took on a number of commissions for Bluesky members as a way to help me through this tricky patch. This time, I am going to open it up to newsletter readers.
If you are interested in a commission from me (it can be of you, your partners, your characters, anything!) please email:
Please make sure the subject line is “COMMISSION” or “NEWSLETTER COMMISSION”.
Typically my commissions are £50 per character. So £100 for a couples picture. Additional characters after that, such as pets, kids, etc I typically discount at £25 each. I typically don’t draw detailed backgrounds, but if you want one, it would be an additional £50.
Below is an example of one of my recent commissions! (You of course do not need to commission me to draw DeadEndia characters).

OTHER WAYS TO SUPPORT ME!
There are some other ways to support me, of course! The best way is to buy my books! DeadEndia: The Divine Order is the most important thing for me to sell at the moment. And of course you can preorder Go-Man: Champion of Earth (Vol 1) which is a really great help!
Buy and pre-order my books from wherever you like! There’s no right or wrong place as far as I’m concerned!
You can also subscribe to my Patreon! I post every other day and it’s either early looks and my art, development stuff from my new and upcoming projects or whatever takes my fancy! I’m always open to hearing how people would like me to use my Patreon better. It’s pay what you want! https://patreon.com/hamishsteele?utm_medium=unknown&utm_source=join_link&utm_campaign=creatorshare_creator&utm_content=copyLink
Also a bit weirder, but if any UK folks are looking for some rare merchandise and toys, I also have an eBay store here: https://www.ebay.co.uk/usr/hamishtoys
GO-MAN LAUNCH PLANS
Finally, I can’t give any details just yet, but I wanted to let you true die-hard early-birds know that there is a planned Go-Man launch event for London, UK happening on Thursday 28th August 2025. Pencil it in now if you wanna come! I’ll of course share a lot more details when the time is right!
ANYWAY! It’s been loving chatting! I hope I get to see you all soon and I believe next month I’ll have some really exciting news to share! BYE LOVE YOU!

So happy about the newsletter. Hopefully the digital tour-event (if it happens) will be available globally too, so ppl from other regions can join in too. Also, I hope the ebay sales are not due to money issues, that Kirby watch looks too special to part with. Good luck in the upcoming months, and cheers for your successes with the upcoming projects! ❤️
