Last Leg
Well, I finally made it out of design mode. And just in time too, because I was about to loose my mind. But, like, in a good way.
Also, this was a bit of a short week due to Easter, so the update is short as well.
Loading Screen
The implementation of the design work has begun! I started with the loading screen, not only because it was an easy entry point, but also because I was sick of seeing the "LOADING" text every time I rebooted the app. So now we have this!
I invite you to notice that this is the actual app, running in Linux. This screen lasts while the ephemeris is loaded, then automatically transitions to the main UI. Eventually this login screen will include an animation that indicates progress on loading the ephemeris. For now, it's just static. But it goes A LONG way to making the app feel more real.
Since it feels lame to have just one screen shot, here's one of some code, just so you know I'm not making things up.
I still haven't finalized the non-highlighted orange color, which is why bOff has no value.
Thankfulness
It is especially important, in times like this, to have a thankfulness practice. There's always a lot to be thankful for, and it helps balance out that feeling that everything is going to shit. Just spend a moment, whenever you can, to give thanks for what is. Even if you are just sitting on the coach, enjoying a beer, a bag of chips, and a show. Be thankful for the supply chains that are still functioning that made it possible to have something as amazing as a bag of chips. And the brewer of the beer. And the yeast and grains that made the beer possible. And the earth that the grains grew in. And the decomposing bodies that made that earth fertile. And on and on. Go as deep down the thankfulness well as time allows.
For example, right now, I'm taking a moment to be thankful for you.
