Crossroads
Read at HoD: Urania + Swiss Ephemeris
It’s going to be another fairly quick update, but this time with a bit more detail on why. But first!
Houses
I’ve got basic house rendering wired up in Urania. Here’s a quick screen shot plus a video.
General Update
I’m really excited about the progress on Urania. Moving to the Swiss Ephemeris is a huge improvement that allows me to focus on features and presentation, and less on plumbing. However, my time is currently split between two major projects. For those that don’t know: I’m a software consultant and I recently landed a large client, which is great, but also means that I have to juggle my time between my client and Urania. I’ve been working on Urania during evenings and weekends for the last few weeks. However, this consulting project is relatively short and ends the last week of November, at which point I should be able to give Urania 100% of my time again.
In short: progress is good but a little slower than usual.
Queen of Diamonds
We have entered the time of the Queen of Diamonds. In the Lenormand, the Queen of Diamonds is the crossroad. Decisions must be made, and made carefully. Fate is your dance partner. Might as well learn the steps and hit the floor with style.
Conduct me, Zeus, and thou, Destiny,
Wherever thy decree has fixed my lot.
I follow willingly; and, did I not,
Wicked and wretched would I follow still.
– Diogenes Laërtius quoting Cleanthes
“You cannot alter your fate, my prince. However, you can rise to meet it if you choose.”
– English adaptation: Princess Mononoke (1997) written by Hayao Miyazaki
“I wish it need not have happened in my time,” said Frodo.
“So do I,” said Gandalf, “and so do all who live to see such times. But that is not for them to decide. All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given us.”
– J.R.R. Tolkien, The Fellowship of the Ring
