Today is the day! My new book
Directions is out in bookstores and I'm so excited for you to read it.

Directions began one afternoon in 2017, when my brother Nick was visiting me in LA. We sat at the kitchen table, surrounded by colorful construction paper and art supplies. We decided we'd make art until we used up all the paper. He doodled, and I started to write in black ink. I wrote "directions" at the top of each page, almost as a challenge to myself, and then wrote the rest quickly, without thinking. The results were funny and strange. I didn't know what to do with them. So I tucked them away in an envelope and stuffed them in a drawer.
A year later, when moving into a new apartment, I came across them. I posted a few to Instagram. They were well-liked, which made me curious. I holed-up in my office, turned on some music, smoked some weed, and tore up some construction paper. I wrote more Directions, and the series became the most popular thing I'd ever done.
At first, the popularity alarmed me. If everyone likes this, could it be a good idea? I'm very
pretentious so popularity is something I try to steer WELL clear of, thank you very much. But eventually
I overcame that, and kept writing them. I even obliged when enough followers said
make this a book!
Today that book is finally out and I can say to everyone who encouraged it into existence: thank you, and please
buy a copy.
