What Is a Good Life?

A new mural project and some questions about where you find inspiration and validation.

This is a digital mock-up of a mural of evergreens that I’ll be painting this summer.

It’ll be the biggest artwork I’ve made in a while and I’ve already got lots of feelings about it and how it relates to my understanding of prosperity.

Hear more about the mural!
sculpture of the number 1 on a pedestal, painted with a steamboat design from 1700s, a cityscape of Philadelphia from that time, and a duckling

I’ve got questions…

  • Where do you find inspiration? If it’s in art, history, science, or stickers, come celebrate this sculpture of the number 1 along with the steamboat it depicts, the vessel’s inventor, and the duckling on Saturday May 30th from 11am to 1pm at the Independence Seaport Museum in Philadelphia as part of 52 Weeks of Firsts.

  • What’s one of your favorite compliments you’ve ever gotten? I recently received validation I didn’t know I needed.

  • What are you reading? My favorite books this month were Quan Barry’s The Unveiling and Bob the Drag Queens’s Harriet Tubman: Live in Concert.

Little bits of pretty!

There are pillows and prints as well as t-shirts and magnets featuring my art available in my Redbubble shop.

My current loves include a ladybug encounter and a couple of bald eagles as well as a rainbow Eeyore who wants you to know that it never hurts to keep smashing the patriarchy and a pair of bewitching daffodil-headed monsters.

Take care,

Gwenn
