September 2024 updates

New writing

1. The ouroboros of academic peer review
2. This is mostly old writing, but a reminder that I have a list of my favorite movies, TV shows, books, podcasts, music, video games and (new) football players.

New Science

1. I'm back to working on New Science full-time (and fundraising for the first time in 2 years, do reach out if could be relevant).
2. New Science has 3 new fellows working on open source hardware for physics, ML interpretability, and history of science. More updates are coming soon.
3. I would like to hire a research assistant to help with a translation of one of the most influential economics papers of all time The Colonial Origins of Comparative Development: An Empirical Investigation into normal English language.
   1. Please reply to this email if you're interested. An economics ~grad student would probably be the right fit here.
