Napoleon: a Cautionary Tale for Young Idealists (and other January 2024 updates)
Hi everyone,
New essay -- Napoleon: a Cautionary Tale for Young Idealists
I'm in Boston now, studying physics. If you do physics, let me know, I would love to chat.
And many thanks to everyone who offered places to stay in Europe! I visited ~15 cities and meeting (and staying on couches of) my readers was terrific, as always.
I've been pondering just how incredible humanity is a lot while traveling. Like, isn't it amazing how easy it is to make friends with total strangers? Flight/train/random line -- you can just start talking to a person nearby and -- more often than not -- they'll talk back! And, if talking is fun, you can ask them for their contact info and next time you're in town you have a friend there! fr incredible.
