April-May 2024 updates

Hi everyone,

No new published essays since the last update, but I have a bunch of Google Docs, mostly about science:

1. thoughts on science, science literacy, and replication. Questions I'm especially interested in right now:
   • Is it possible to make scientific literature as accessible as ordinary news articles? (Early 20th century Nature was dramatically more readable than today)
   • Is it possible to make replication of scientific results 10x easier? (without replication it's impossible to build upon a result, so this a key constraint on progress)
   • How to make everyone a scientist? (even kings couldn't read or write 1,000 years ago -- now even I can; I'm convinced Nothing Is Inherently Difficult)

5. losing the idea of progress
6. first draft of scientific principles for life
