Update from Good Shepherd, September 1, 2026
God’s Work, Our Hands Sunday is September 13
An Annual Day Devoted to Love of Our Neighbors and Church
Sunday, September 13, is “God’s Work, Our Hands Sunday.” We are collecting food items and packing up meal kits to support C-CAP, and the Warren County Department of Social Services (WCDSS).
For C-Cap:
C-Cap needs some basic pantry supplies to give to people who want to make meals at home. C-Cap has specifically requested:
bags of flour
cooking oil
Bisquick or similar baking mix
For WCDSS:
The Warren County Department of Social Services gives people bags of food with recipes, and all ingredients included.
We will be collecting food items for the three recipes listed below. You can donate all of the ingredients or some of the ingredients.
Chicken and Wild Rice Casserole
2 cans chicken
1 can green beans
1 can cream of mushroom soup
1 box long grain and wild rice
½ cup of slice almonds, water chestnuts or fried onions
Cheesy Chicken Pasta
2 cans chicken
2 packets of Knorr cheddar broccoli pasta
1 can of peas (or other vegetable)
Black Beans and Spanish Rice
2 packages of Spanish Rice
1 can black beans
1 can whole kernel corn
1 can diced tomatoes with green chilies
Garnish: Tortilla chips
Please have all food items at the church by Sunday, September 13th before church. After church we will meet in the fellowship hall to put the recipe items together in bags and get a group photo! Don’t forget to wear your t-shirts.
