Update from Good Shepherd, January 27, 2026
From Good Shepherd's Deacon, Lynette McSpadden ("Deacon Lyn")

Hello siblings in Christ—Deacon Lyn here. I want you to know how grateful and excited I am to be serving alongside you in the Good Shepherd community. It is truly a joy and a calling I hold close to my heart.
As many of you know, I continue to work full-time with the Federal Aviation Administration in Washington, DC. I commute Monday through Friday and usually don’t arrive home until after 6:00 p.m. Because of that schedule, I may not always be able to answer a call or respond to a text or email right away during the day. Please know this: I will return your call, text, or message as soon as I am able.
You’re always welcome to reach out. You can call or text me at 540-692-9294, or email me at deaconlyngselc@gmail.com. I’m thankful for your patience and your grace, and I look forward to walking together in faith and community.

Good Shepherd Men—come and see. You’re invited to gather with Deacon Lyn on the third Saturday of each month for breakfast, fellowship, and a time of devotion and shared community. We’ll meet at 8:30 a.m. at Mom’s Country Kitchen in Front Royal (470 S. Commerce Ave., Suite B).
Our first Saturday breakfast is February 21. Subsequent Saturdays are March 21, April 18, and May 16. There’s a place for you at the table—good food, honest conversation, and space to be strengthened for the journey. Come as you are.

Noted:
The cookie fundraiser raised $525 for the kitchen fund. Thank you to all who contributed, and all who bought and ate cookies for an excellent cause. (Besides the inherent excellence of cookies being delicious, that is.)
