iOS: Settings > Accessibility > Guided Access lets you restrict all or parts of the screen / buttons with a passcode

Use it to prevent exiting from the screen you want to show law enforcement if they need to take the phone

(Ideally don’t give the phone at all if avoidable)

I was told today in Texas we no longer need a physical copy or our car insurance; we can show it on our cellphones.

So people are handing the police officer their unlocked phone for them to take back to the police car with them?

This May Day remember Louis Lingg, whose alibi in the Haymarket trail was that he couldn't have thrown the bombs because he was at home making other bombs. His sentencing statement was "I despise you, I despise your order, your laws, your force propped authority. Hang me for it."

I coined a new term: Technocratopian

A technocratic, elitist utopianism characterized by an aversion to universal social programs and an erroneous faith that arcane bureaucratic systems can accurately distinguish the “deserving” from “undeserving” in the allocation of benefits🧵

Something something cyber war. I guess now the consensus is turning towards “they could’ve had a Hollywood style cyber war, but Russia chose not to…for whatever reasons.”

Cyber experts say the analysis suggests hidden depths to Russia’s cyber operations in Ukraine, because although it has the capability to launch more damaging cyberattacks, it has chosen to inflict less harmful ones for the moment.

⚠️ Confirmed: Metrics indicate that internet connectivity on provider Skynet (Khersontelecom) in Russian-occupied Kherson, south Ukraine, has been partially restored and rerouted via Russia's Rostelecom instead of Ukrainian infrastructure.

Spain's Govt discovers a suspected case of foreign espionage w/ NSO Group's Pegasus spyware against the PM and Defense Minister. Looks like more awkwardness from NSO selling Pegasus both to EU govs, and also to foreign govs spying on those same EU govs.
