Archival video has emerged of the late crew of the Russian Ropucha-class BDK (large landing ship) "Caesar Kunikov" firing on Ukrainian marine drones prior to it being hit by them and sinking off the coast of Crimea on February 14, 2024.

The footage of drones is getting kinda terrifying. The clip of the guy running in a circle around a tank to avoid a drone, only for it to detonate next to him was a scary sight. Remember, this isn’t “a vision of future war,” it is war, right now.
The above video of naval drones hunting the Russian ship is rather sinister. The dark, the wake of the drone as it manoeuvres in sharp turns. The lack of any noticeable effect from all those bullets. The battle of man vs machine is a losing battle.
This technology is not complicated. FPVs are assembled by ordinary civilians on kitchen tables. The first effective naval drones were cut down jet skis with a StarLink terminal and an IP camera.
Let’s not forget that the first wide deployment of quadcopters during war was by ISIS in the battle of Mosul. The US military was concerned and said they were developing ways to counter the threat. They talked about the battle for air supremacy below 2000 feet. This was in 2016, and in 2024 there is still no solution.

Interestingly, some of the flaws were discovered by researchers at 2023's Tianfu Cup Pwn Contest – China's equivalent of the Pwn2Own infosec attack-fest. VMware thanked contest participants Jiang YuHao, Ying XingLei & Zhang ZiMing of Team Ant Lab – an outfit affiliated with Alibaba – and VictorV & Wei of Team CyberAgent. Also thanked were Jiaqing Huang and Hao Zheng from the TianGong Team of Legendsec at Qi'anxin Group, as they found some of the flaws independently. (emphasis added)
That is a lot of bug collisions. Nothing to really say about it, just seems like an interesting data point.
