The problem - which has caused problems for arms control for decades - is that missiles do not have inherent ranges. If you lower or raise the weight of the missile's payload, you are shortening and lengthening the range of the missile.

The Iranian foreign minister, Araghchi, claimed in Feb that Iran has limited the range of its missiles to 2,000 km. Diego Garcia is around 3,800 km from the Iranian coast, but considering you're going to be launching from a bit inland, the range is probably around 4,400 km.
