One thing to note is the post is somewhat wrong in terms of what’s possible without frame pointers. Prodfiler/Elastic Universal Profiler works without them, and handles Java. I assumed Brendan was aware of this but I guess not. That’s on us for sucking at marketing ;)

i.e. whatever benefits you’d like from this you can probably get them right now, and across all distros, without recompilation. Elastic are in the process of open sourcing the agent so hopefully this will become public knowledge soon.
