This is interesting in that it has taken a year for cybercriminals to convert a public PoC into a working exploit. Not sure what it means, but it’s a data point in the whole offensive cyber tools discourse.

RCE in Redis < 7.2.4 (CVE-2023-41056)
— Ivan Kwiatkowski (@JusticeRage) January 13, 2024
I haven't seen a lot of noise about this one. Redis is everywhere (NextCloud, Mastodon, GitLab...) – if you're using it, patch now, but I also expect to see a lot of second-degree exploitation with this one.https://t.co/Bp35WhhUN0

To what extent is this an accounting wrinkle? All software work is classed as R&D, and given that AWS doesn't have an SRE org, it'd seem that even all humans running AWS is classed as R&D?@noahpin https://t.co/B3drkme58f

It is startling to see how much of the world's R&D spending comes from (mostly American) tech giants.

The R&D spending of Amazon is greater than the R&D spending of all companies and government in France. Alphabet beats Italy.

Percy Fawcett keeps being right. More and more cities keep appearing in the Amazon. At this point we have to accept that the 'pristine' rainforest is a post-collapse regrowth, not a timeless primeval forest. https://t.co/dynZrdDyw4 pic.twitter.com/3RG8hW2is8

Those remote or uncontacted Amazonian tribes are not living in a state of primordial stasis, like living fossils of the Paleolithic or whatever, but are the descendants of a collapsed civilisation living in a post-apocalyptic landscape. https://t.co/diY2UUgfOS
