New predatory sparrows attack. So new, in fact, that they used the same everything as last time they disrupted the petrol stations. Interestingly, they again called the emergency services ahead of time and warned them to prepare. So even though the scope has expanded, the modus operandi remains the same (as does the rest of the attack, lol)

It's a decent primer on understanding the real and practical security issues that can (and will) arise when prompt injection occurs. https://t.co/p9ZW27DQXc

The once-prophesized future where cheap, AI-generated trash content floods out the hard work of real humans is already here, and is already taking over Facebook.
Ravi Nayyar: "Wishing our Indian cousins a very happy Vijay Diw…" - Infosec Exchange
Wishing our Indian cousins a very happy Vijay Diwas and our Bangladeshi cousins a very happy Bijoy Dibosh, both commemorating the Indian victory over Pak in the Bangladesh Liberation War of 1971 and the subsequent creation of Bangladesh. We talk about the Indians running a blitzkrieg on the eastern front (what is now Bangladesh) of the war and securing victory in just under two weeks, eg, through controlling the skies and overwhelming Pak land forces, backed up by the Indian Navy's attacks and blockade of Karachi. What we don't talk enough about is the covert action, insurgency dimension of this war, namely the Mukti Bahini. The Mukti Bahini were ethnic Bengali guerrillas formed with the help of, and trained by, India's external intelligence agency - the Research & Analysis Wing (formed just a few years prior) - Directorate of Naval Intelligence and paramilitary organisation, Border Security Force. They were driven to fight against the Paks by the genocide inflicted upon their people by the Pak Army under Operation Searchlight. They were absolutely vital to the Pak defeat, eg, through the destruction of Pak infrastructure on the eastern front and choking their supply lines. Their success is a lesson for what happens when a defender's CNI is physically rendered toast. Indeed, the Mukti Bahini ought to be studied as a case study for a militarily very effective state-backed insurgency. Here's a write-up on the maritime insurgency waged by the Mukti Bahini, with the backing of Indian intelligence. cc: @thegrugq https://irregularwarfare.org/articles/lessons-in-maritime-insurgency-from-the-mukti-bahini-freedom-fighters-of-1971/ qt

Zack Whittaker: "New, by @carlypage: Comcast says hackers stole da…" - Mastodon
New, by @carlypage: Comcast says hackers stole data of close to 36 million Xfinity customers. Hackers exploited a known vulnerability called CitrixBleed, found in Citrix devices run by big corporations, but Comcast hadn't patched its own systems. Comcast says customer names, usernames, dates of birth, hashed passwords, and some partial Social Security numbers were exposed. After watching Chernobyl, I thought I’d go learn about nuclear physics. I ended up discovering my favorite lecturer of all time, perhaps second only to Feynman. Meet Michael Short, a thoughtful and unassuming MIT professor.https://t.co/3nZVC0PfHd

The era of the giant seaplane is sadly over, a time when marvels like the Latécoère 631 existed. On this painting you can clearly see the black and orange pattern painted on the first model to make it easier to detect the plane if it broke down on the open sea. pic.twitter.com/pxcmTuUiJL
