July 2026 | Summer | Refine Confidently
“The person who finished writing it was very different from the one who started it.” - Mark Lawrence
It has been a year since Growls & Grimm first opened its doors. In that time, I have learned, grown, and slowly created a space for readers who have been searching for something they couldn't quite find anywhere else, a place for those who collect stories, spaces, and the occasional ritual, and who prefer things that linger just a little longer in the dark.
While there may be a few things here that go bump in the night, they have always belonged. They are part of the stories we tell, the atmosphere we create, and the quiet corners that have shaped Growls & Grimm from the very beginning.
As Growls & Grimm approaches its first year, it felt like the right time to leave another light on in the library. That's what The Letter is, a light that will always be on when you need to step into the library.
Around the Library
A New Room
The Fever Dream Summer Reading Room has opened its doors on Pinterest, filled with stories that feel hazy, strange, and just a little dreamlike. If you're looking for your next fantasy read, it's a quiet corner worth wandering into.
A Shelf Worth Visiting
The Books That Built the Shadows is a look at the books that shaped the reading foundation of Growls & Grimm. It's where my love of fantasy began, what each genre taught me along the way, and how those stories still influence the books I recommend today.
A Quiet Addition
The Summer T.B.R. Tracker is waiting if you're planning your seasonal reading, making it just a little easier to keep track of the stories that find their way onto your shelves. And The Good Soup Chronicles has reached Vol. 29, proving that my slightly feral familiar is still creating enough mischief to deserve his own corner of the library.
One Book to Leave on the Desk
If I could leave one book on the desk this season, it would be Weyward. It's the kind of story Growls & Grimm returns to often, one where folklore, quiet strength, and the natural world are woven together in a way that lingers long after you've finished the last page. It reminds us that some stories don't need to shout to leave a mark.
Looking Toward the Next Shelf
The shelves will continue to grow over the coming months as we wander deeper into A Taste for Shadows before arriving at Where the Dark Begins. There will be more fantasy, more folklore, quiet corners worth exploring, and, as always, a few carefully chosen books that refuse to leave the desk once they've been read.
In closing remember somewhere beyond the turning leaves, the oldest stories are already beginning to stir.
See you in the shadows.
