Color Dice: Part 4 - My Color System

I decided to make this post followers only to put a little barrier between AI content scrapers and this information. Here's hoping it works, because I don't have the spoons to do much more.

I envision the 13 colors of the main cycle as a cycle, loop, or circle, even though they correspond to a line through my body with ends far below and above, and two points that can move because they're my hands. I also envision a flow from one of the listed directions to another in sequence, giving another way the colors can be connected. More than one thing can be true at the same time.

Silver:

  • Represents chthonic Powers and magic
  • Represents the direction of Below
  • Energy center is about 6" below my feet
  • Represented by incense or a candle
  • Represented by a moon symbol

Black

  • Represents community in this world, including humans, animals, plants, inanimate physical things like stones, and the Earth itself
  • Represents the direction of Without
  • Energy center is between/in my feet
  • Represented by a drum or a rattle
  • Represented by a sprout symbol

Brown:

  • Represents boundaries
  • Represents the direction of Around
  • Energy center is between/in my knees

Red:

  • Represents passion, drive, and motivation
  • Represents the direction of South
  • Energy center is the root center
  • Represented by an athame
  • Represented by an athame symbol

Orange:

  • Represents creativity, generativity, and the future
  • Represents the direction of Before/Front
  • Energy center is the sacral plexus
  • Represented by a cauldron
  • Represented by a cauldron symbol

Yellow:

  • Represents the body, the home, finances, and physical possessions
  • Represents the direction of East
  • Energy center is the solar plexus
  • Represented by a crystal
  • Represented by a crystal symbol

Green:

  • Represents the direction of North
  • Energy center is at heart level; I usually associate it with the lungs instead
  • Represented by a wand
  • Represented by a wand symbol

Light Blue:

  • Represents generosity, giving, and letting go
  • Represents the direction of the projecting or dominant hand
  • Energy center is in that hand
  • Represented by that hand
  • Represented by a cloud symbol

Dark Blue:

  • Represents emotion and feelings
  • Represents the direction of West
  • Energy center is in the throat
  • Represented by a cup or chalice
  • Represented by a chalice symbol

Purple:

  • Represents the past, memory, and intuition
  • Represents the direction of Behind
  • Energy center is the third eye
  • Represented by a divination tool
  • Represented by a snake symbol

White:

  • Represents the higher or ideal self
  • Represents the direction of Within
  • Energy center is the crown
  • Represented by a bell
  • Represented by a ring symbol

Gold:

  • Represents celestial Powers and magic
  • Represents the direction of Above
  • Energy center is about 6" above my head
  • Represented by prayer beads
  • Represented by a sun symbol

Copper:

  • Represents all Powers, all magic, and that which holds everything together
  • Represents the direction of Throughout
  • No energy center
  • Represented by a cord
  • Represented by a star symbol

Grey:

  • Represents that which is impartial or standing apart
  • Represents the direction of Nowhere
  • No energy center
  • Represented by an hourglass
  • Represented by a lemniscate symbol

Rainbow:

  • Represents the totality of everything
  • Represents the direction of Everywhere
  • No energy center
  • No representative tool
  • Represented by a rainbow symbol

The third way of understanding the colors as a sequence, the expanding and contracting coil, progresses through a sequence of drawing energy in:

  • Nowhere (Grey)
  • Everywhere (Rainbow)
  • Throughout (Copper)
  • Above (Gold) and Below (Silver) simultaneously
  • Without (Black)
  • Around (Brown)
  • Receiving hand's direction (Pink)
  • South (Red)
  • East (Yellow)
  • North (Green)
  • West (Dark Blue)
  • Behind (Purple)
  • Before (Orange)
  • Within (White)
  • Projecting hand's direction (Light Blue)

Then the sequence reverses:

  • Receiving hand's direction (Pink)
  • South (Red)
  • East (Yellow)
  • North (Green)
  • West (Dark Blue)
  • Behind (Purple)
  • Before (Orange)
  • Within (White)
  • Projecting hand's direction (Light Blue)
  • Around (Brown)
  • Without (Black)
  • Above (Gold) and Below (Silver) simultaneously
  • Throughout (Copper)
  • Everywhere (Rainbow)
  • Nowhere (Grey)

Consider how you might replicate these cycles with your own colors, or whether it makes sense to cycle in a different way.

In addition to these correspondences, I'm working on finding an art tool or supply, an action to take in artmaking, and a prompt question for each color. I haven't tested these out so I'm not including them yet.

In the next part, I'll talk about some of my experiences working with the colors and what I'm currently doing.
