Josie's Fur-ever Home
Hello and happy Tuesday, my loves!
There are a lot of new faces here, and it's great to see y'all. Welcome!
For those who have been here for a minute, I recently wrote a thread on Twitter that went viral... about death. More specifically, about our neighbor passing away unexpectedly - and the need for all of us to plan for our deaths.
If you haven't read it or Twitter isn't your jam, I wrote it up as a blog post, too.
One of the reasons that I wrote this up is because we've been fostering Corey's dog Josie.

Someone locally who runs a nonprofit has been helping us with orchestrating things and took Josie to the vet yesterday. We got the news today that she has diabetes.
What this means is she needs to essentially wear a doggie FreeStyle Libre / wearable glucose monitor for two weeks to help determine what her insulin requirements are. This costs $115. A bottle of insulin - which she'll need shots from twice a day - is $63 a month.
Thankfully, one of Corey's friends is going to adopt Josie! This friend is someone who spent a lot of time with both of them at the local dog park.
But, she is someone who is a little strapped for cash. She has several animals already and, living in Appalachia, things are tight.
She doesn't know I'm doing this, but I'd really like to help her financially a bit with taking Josie in.
If this is something you'd be willing to chip in a double bucks for, I'm sharing links below. I'll collect money and share it with her as it comes in.
Thanks for considering - and for starting to plan ahead so that your pets and loved ones know how to handle these situations, should your time come soon.
Love you. Mean it.
