Help a DV victim fight her abuser
Since the summer of 2023, my best friend has been fighting back against an abuser — her ex-fiancé.
Just as we were working to set up a fundraiser, her lawyers have demanded payment in full of the $3,453.22 owed to continue working her case.
Unfortunately, after nearly 9 months of staying with friends, relying on the generosity of others, and paying all the bills on the home she owns alone — while he continues to live there, not paying a dime — she doesn't have it. And, unless we can raise funds, that means we can't move forward with the fundraiser she desperately needs.
The funds are currently going through me to protect her identity at this time. Any funds raised above the lawyer fees will go to paying down her maxed out credit lines and past-due mortgage payments.
