Security Training this Saturday July 22nd
This email is going out to the Security Team and Church Leadership.
The training, to be conducted by Dustin Bairfield, will take place this coming Saturday, July 22nd, and will consist of two sessions, morning and afternoon. The morning session is required for everyone receiving this email, but the afternoon session is only required for those who will be recognized as authorized armed security going forward.
The morning session will take place at the church and will begin promptly at 09:00AM - please arrive at the church no later than 08:45AM, preferably by 08:30AM. This session will be a classroom session covering legalities of the Mississippi Church Protection Act, policy considerations, liability, etc, and may include a church walk-through to discuss vulnerabilities, time permitting.
Please bring your own lunch, as we will not have time to go eat anywhere or go pickup lunch between the first and second sessions.
The second session will take place at the firing range located at 836 Townsend Dr SE Brookhaven, MS 39601 and is required for all armed Security Team members. Please bring 50 rounds of ammunition, and eye and ear protection. If you wear prescription glasses, that will suffice for eye protection.
Successful completion of the range training will result in a certificate required by the State prior to issuance of an Enhanced Concealed Carry Permit. There will be additional steps we need to take with the State in order to complete the application process. Those extra steps will be discussed Saturday.
