Ecclesiastes Study: Week 3
Good morning, Church Family!
We trust that the Lord is using our study of Ecclesiastes to train you toward godliness, and to equip you with understanding the times so that you can be a minister to those around you who do not know Christ.
In preparation of next Sunday's lesson, as you prayerfully study Ecclesiastes chapter 3, asking the Lord to illuminate His word to you, do so with the following questions in mind:
Why did Solomon present four arguments about the futility of life, then immediately challenge his own arguments? What are the factors that Solomon said must be considered before you can label life as monotonous and meaningless?
Choose one verse or phrase from Ecclesiastes 3 that stands out to you. It could be something you're intrigued by, something that makes you uncomfortable, something that puzzles you, something that resonates with you, or just something that you want to examine further.
In Ecc 3:1-8, what are some of the ways that Solomon affirms that God is at work in our lives? What does it mean that an event is good "in its time?" What does that tell us about God's ways? About His will for our lives?
What does Ecc 3:2 reveal about the secret to a successful life? What does Ecc 3:3 teach us about God's role in healing? About our responsibility to care for one another?
What does Ecc 3:5 tell us about God's relationship with His people? What is the time for gathering stones all about? What does the time to say "hello" and the time to say "goodbye" reveal to us about God's will for relationships?
In Ecc 3:12-14, was Solomon saying, "don't worry, be happy?" Explain your answer. What's the difference between faith in faith and faith in God? How does faith in God affect our enjoyment of life?

Eternity on My Mind - Archive - Truth For Life
Nothing on earth fully satisfies us because we were actually created for eternity. In this message, Alistair Begg reminds us that God wants us to enjoy life in order to bring Him glory and that even the mundane acts of life are a gift from God. With this awareness, we can find comfort, a humble sense of security, and a better understanding of our significance.
Have a great week of study! May the Lord use your time in His word to accomplish His purposes for your life and His glory!
