Ecclesiastes chapters 7 & 8 Bible Study
Good morning, Church Family -
After a couple of weeks off, we will resume our study of the Book of Ecclesiastes this coming Sunday evening, focusing on Chapters 7 & 8.
Here are some questions that will guide our study:
Choose one verse or phrase from Ecclesiastes 7 or 8 (or both) that stands out to you. It could be something you're intrigued by, something that makes you uncomfortable, something that puzzles you, something that resonates with you, or just something that you want to examine further.
According to Solomon, how can sorrow be good for a heart? Why and how does modern society tend to ignore the benefits of sorrow?
In what ways is our culture today a "shortcut" society? Why are shortcuts so tempting in life? What is Solomon's caution about "the easy way?" What can we learn by trusting God in the long, difficult routes of life?
What are some ways in which wisdom is better than wealth? How is wisdom a better shelter than money? What message does today's world (and even the church in some instances) preach more readily and more enthusiastically: wisdom or wealth? What should the church be saying about that?
Review Ecc 8:10-15. Why is there so much injustice in the world today? How does our faith in God's plan help us to endure unfair situations?
Have you ever been treated unfairly? How did that circumstance affect your relationship with the people who treated you badly? How did it affect your relationship with God? What is a good and godly way to deal with the reality that life isn't fair? How can God use unfair treatment of you to further His plan for you?

Dealing with Our Destiny - Archive - Truth For Life
Death entered the world when Adam and Eve committed the first act of disobedience toward God’s commands. As a result, death is an inevitable ending to life that we all face. Alistair Begg examines the cure God has provided for death, found in His Son Jesus Christ and the work He accomplished on the cross. By taking the penalty for our disobedience, Christ defeated death and now offers us the hope of eternal life.

The Case against Self-Sufficiency - Archive - Truth For Life
By nature, people are uncomfortable reflecting on life’s hardest realities, such as the uncertainty of the future and the certainty of death. Instead of considering our existence beyond this life, we often choose to focus on the fleeting pleasures of this world. Alistair Begg reminds us that despite our best efforts to ignore these issues, our hearts will remain restless until we find rest in the God who created us.
