Ecclesiastes Chapter 6 Study Guide
Good morning church!
This week we will study Ecclesiastes Chapter 6. Below are the questions upon which we will focus our attention. As you study, ask the Lord to help you see what He would have you see, and to learn what He would have you to learn, and to mold you into the Christian He would have you to be.
Read about these biblical characters who at one time wanted to die or wished they'd never been born: Moses (Numbers 11:15), Elijah ((1 Kings 19:4), Job (Job 3:21; 7:15), Jeremiah (Jeremiah 8:3; 15:10), Jonah (Jonah 4:3), and Paul (2 Corinthians 1:8-11). What led to each of these people's struggle? How were their struggles similar to what Solomon was exploring in Ecclesiastes 6?
Choose one verse or phrase from Ecclesiastes 4 & 5 that stands out to you. It could be something you're intrigued by, something that makes you uncomfortable, something that puzzles you, something that resonates with you, or just something that you want to examine further.
What was Solomon's conclusion about the rich man? Where does the ability to enjoy life come from? Where do we find contentment? Where do we find the resources to maintain contentment in trying times?
Why is it futile to speculate about the future? How is that different from preparing for the future? What does it look like in daily life to make the best of our present circumstances?
What are some of life's questions that you wish you could answer? Would you be happy if you could answer all of the difficult questions? Why or why not? What would your faith look like if you had all the answers? How does not knowing help you to grow closer to God?
What are some ways you make the best of present circumstances? How does this help you to keep from fretting about the future? Would you want to know what the future holds for your life? Why or why not?

In Search of Meaning - Archive - Truth For Life
Just as we brought nothing into this world, we will take nothing out. All of the money we have toiled a lifetime for is worthless to us when we are dead. Alistair Begg teaches that a perspective shaped by God’s Word will make all the difference in how we live each day. A man who fears God will avoid earthly snares because he understands that a good name and honor are much more valuable than riches.
Have a great week in the Lord!
