Good Works Columbus: September 22nd, 2025

Hi gang, welcome back to Good Works Columbus!

Things you can do in person

  • Open Streets 614
    Sunday, September 28th 12:00pm-4:00pm
The City of Columbus is once again putting on a series of Open Streets events. An "open street" means people traffic replaces car traffic, and streets become places where people of all ages, abilities and background can come out and be active. The idea is to re-imagine how we use our streets, putting people over cars.

Sign up to volunteer here. Help manage the "Roll Lane" where people will be biking, scootering, rollerblading, etc. Volunteers will be stationed at either end to instruct folks on how to utilize the lane and provide safety tips as they enter/exit, as well as assist with any pedestrian crossings at the intersection of Gay and High streets.

  • Save the Date: Green Columbus Fall Tree Giveaway

We'll discuss how redlining, segregation and other forces targeted this architectural icon, and how a new generation is reclaiming the duplex as a tool for growth, wealth, individuality and community development. The film’s director Anita Kwan will also join the discussion, and light refreshments will be provided.

  • Mobility Justice Advocacy Summit
    Sunday, October 5th 1:30pm-4:30pm
    Columbus Main Branch Library Auditorium
