Things you can do in person

  • Transit Columbus Monthly Meeting
    Tuesday, October 14th 7:00pm-8:30pm
    Columbus Main Library 2B

    Join us Tuesday, October 14th from 7:00pm-8:30pm at the Columbus Library downtown branch for our monthly meeting. Heads up, we’ll be in Meeting Room 2B this time.

    We'll be joined by COTA's Patrick Harris and Dorinda McCombs, COTA's new Chief LinkUS Officer. Dorinda and Patrick will discuss the ways COTA is preparing to ensure the success of LinkUS. We hope to see you there!

  • Columbus Tree Coalition Meeting
    Wednesday, October 15th 5:30pm-7:30pm

  • Panel Discussion on Housing Insecurity
    Following our powerful September 18 evening with author Brian Goldstone, Worthington United Methodist Church You're invited to continue the conversation about housing justice with a local panel discussion on Thursday, October 16 at 6:30pm in the Sanctuary of Worthington United Methodist Church at 600 High Street, Worthington, Ohio.

    This follow-up event shifts focus to local expertise, featuring three distinguished panelists who work directly on housing issues in Central Ohio, moderated by Danae King, Columbus Dispatch reporter covering underserved communities, including homelessness, affordable housing, and poverty issues. Free and open to the public. This event continues our congregation's discerned missional focus on housing and food justice.

    Come ready to move from education to action in addressing one of the most pressing issues facing families in Central Ohio.

  • No Kings Columbus: Statehouse
    Saturday, October 18th 4:00pm-5:30pm

    Central Ohio is coming together for NO KINGS rallies all across the region on Saturday, October 18. Events will be held at different times starting Saturday morning and going through early afternoon. All the local events will culminate in a massive downtown rally at 4pm at the Ohio Statehouse.

  • The Big Table: Passenger Rail: Connecting Communities, Building the Future
    Tuesday, October 21st 1:00pm-2:00pm
    111 Liberty St., Suite 100

    Since 2016, The Big Table has gathered Central Ohioans together for a day of connection and community-building, through thought provoking conversations.

    MORPC is excited to once again participate and this year, the engaging dialogue will be centered around the topic of passenger rail. Join us as our esteemed employees and experts envision the return of rail in Central Ohio and discuss how it can modernize mobility, connect communities and advance economic development for our growing region.

  • Unionizing 101
    Along with union leaders from Central Ohio, you'll learn how to build power in your workplace by standing with your colleagues and forming a union. This webinar will explain what a union is and the difference it can make, review the steps needed to form a union, and share testimonials from actual workers who have gone through this process.

  • Ohio Transportation Survey
    Access Ohio 2050 (AO50) is Ohio's long-range, multi-modal transportation plan, developed by the Ohio Department of Transportation, that will Guide the state’s transportation policies, Inform investment decisions, and Support the work already being done to prepare Ohio’s transportation system for the future.

    The AO50 project team has developed 11 Draft Strategies to advance the plan's four goals of: Safety, Preservation, Efficiency, and Mobility.

    The draft strategies are high-level statements that provide direction for the plan but stop short of defining detailed action items.

  • MORPC Leaders Listen Survey
    This survey is part of the Mid-Ohio Regional Planning Commission (MORPC) and The Columbus Dispatch’s Leaders Listen Series, a set of short public opinion polls that invite Central Ohio community members to provide their input on important community development topics. Please complete this survey to share your insights on environmental and sustainability issues and opportunities impacting the region.

  • Support queer youth experiencing homelessness
    Kaleidoscope Youth Center recently announced the closing of its housing program due to funding cuts. Donate to KYC here or donate directly to the youth that are experiencing these cuts.
