Sign Petition to Say No To AEP Rate Hikes
Electricity prices in central Ohio have risen at an unsustainable pace, outpacing inflation by 40%. For some families, this means choosing between paying the electric bill and putting food on the table. For seniors and low-income residents, it means risking unsafe temperatures in their homes. And for small businesses, it can mean layoffs. The reality is inflated electricity costs are taking away money from all central Ohio residents managing a U.S. affordability crisis.Despite the growing burden on central Ohio residents, AEP Ohio is requesting that the Public Utilities Commission of Ohio (PUCO) approve yet another rate increase, as the Wall Street utility continues to report substantial profits and reward shareholders. It’s time for PUCO to stand with residents and small businesses and say no to AEP Ohio’s proposed increase.
Let’s send a clear message: Central Ohioans are done paying more for less. It’s time to say lights out on AEP.

We are facing a grave threat to Ohio's homeless response system and the homes of over 10,000 formerly homeless Ohioans. Last week HUD issued last-minute changes to the federal Continuum of Care program would divert about $3.5 billion away from supportive housing and rapid rehousing programs. In Ohio, this would result in a shift of about $80 million that will destabilize the housing of about 10,000 formerly homeless Ohioans.Join COHHIO in advocating for HUD to protect CoC funding to house homeless Ohioans!
Call and email your members of Congress to ask them to support language in an upcoming appropriations bill to require HUD to renew all CoC grants expiring in calendar year 2026 for a full year. (Download talking points) Use the National Alliance to End Homelessness Advocacy Tool to send out a prefilled email to your representatives.4th Amendment Workplace Virtual Training

This training will review the rights you and your business have under the 4th amendment, discuss ways this applies and can be utilized in the workplace, and shares examples to help us all prepare.
We expect the workshop to be about 1 hour, with time for Q and A after. Register here.Donate to Mid-Ohio Food Collective
Students for a National Health Program (SNaHP) is a national organization with chapters at medical schools across the country fighting to improve healthcare for all through single-payer reform and advocacy efforts at the local, state, and federal levels. Our local Columbus chapter is starting a “SNaHP for SNAP” campaign as the need for food has urgently increased amongst cuts to SNAP benefits during the government shutdown. Ahead of the holiday season, these cuts further exacerbate food insecurity in our communities. In conjunction with our student Pediatrics Interest Group (PIG) and Street Med—a student run organization that provides critical healthcare to those experiencing homelessness—we are running a food drive at our medical school to collect physical food as well as financial donations for the Mid-Ohio Food Collective this holiday season! Whether you can drop off a jar of peanut butter, donate $5, or donate $100, we thank you for helping us in caring for our communities!
