Good Works Columbus: November 11, 2024
Transit Columbus, All Aboard Ohio, Cranksgiving, World Day of Remembrance
Intro
Hi everyone, welcome to Good Works Columbus. Normally, I’d start with “Happy Monday!” but it doesn’t feel so happy after last week. Donald Trump won the presidential election, Bernie Moreno won the senate election, and Issue 1 failed to pass. It’s okay to feel sadness and despair after what happened but remember that there is hope (Highly recommend you check out that link not only with much better post-election thoughts from friend of the newsletter Stevie Pasamonte, but also links to organizations you can involved with locally. Also, if you haven’t already seen, Haymarket Books is giving away 10 free e-books to help build power and fight back.) One of the reasons I started this newsletter was to highlight actions you can take at the local level to help improve our community. A better world is possible, and you can help make it happen.
The federal government is giving out another round of free COVID tests, you can sign up to get them here:
If you have an upcoming event or a link you’d like to share for the newsletter, feel free to send suggestions. And if you know someone who might enjoy Good Works Columbus, forward it to them and tell them to subscribe here.

For decades, the state of Ohio has under invested in public transit, by its own accounts, by hundreds of millions of dollars. Our communities need that funding to support transit improvements and to help secure matching federal funding for major projects or service. We build on what we learned in 101 as we plan for the 2025 Ohio State Budget, and make a plan to bring Ohioans transit investment they long deserve.
