Good Works Columbus: January 20th, 2026

Hi friends, welcome back to Good Works Columbus. The world really sucks right now, but know that every little action you take from this newsletter and everything you do outside of it make the world a little better. I appreciate y’all.

  • Life After Cars

Doug Gordan and Sarah Goodyear, hosts of the War on Cars podcast, have published a book called Life After Cars. On Tuesday, January 27, CURA and Transit Columbus are hosting a discussion with Doug and Sarah at the Wexner Center for the Arts.

  • Ohio Rail Development Commission Meeting
    Tuesday, January 22, 11am
Passenger rail decisions don’t happen in public unless the public shows up.

The Ohio Rail Development Commission (ORDC) will hold its next public meeting on January 22 at 11:00 a.m. at the Ohio Department of Public Safety, with a virtual option available.

ORDC plays a key role in shaping rail planning and investment across Ohio, including projects that affect the future of passenger rail. These meetings aren’t flashy, but they do matter.

Attend in person at the Ohio Department of Public Safety or register through the ORDC website to receive the virtual meeting link.

Showing up, even as an observer, signals that Ohioans care about how rail decisions are made.
