Things you can do in person

  • Beers and Board Games supporting Transit Columbus

    Come join Beers and Board Games as they support us through a portion of bar sales. Events are at a variety of bars. If you cannot come this week, board games are happening every Wednesday and Thursday till the end of March. Check their calendar for the latest on locations.

During this session, you’ll learn the basics of advocacy, including building relationships with decision-makers, mobilizing others for change, and effective strategies for communicating your cause. Whether you are new to advocacy or looking to sharpen your skills, this training will provide you with the tools and knowledge to effectively advocate for causes you care about. 

  • E Broad Bike Lane Survey 🚲
    If you’ve traveled along E Broad St recently in the Near East you may have noticed the newly installed protected bike lanes. I’ve used them a few times and it’s certainly an improvement over the paint only lanes around the city. If you get the chance, try it out for yourself and be on the lookout for yard signs along the route with links to a survey for feedback.

  • Buckeye Trail National Scenic Trail Designation Support 🥾
    Ohio’s longest trail, The Buckeye Trail, is under a feasibility study to determine if it will be recommended as the 12th National Scenic Trail in the United States. Whether you’ve followed the blue blazes across the state or have yet to step foot on it, we need your support to accomplish this historic protection! Comments are due by February 19th!

    Check out Ohio Environmental Council’s submitted public comment and submit your own comment here.

  • Franklin County Innis Road, Cleveland Avenue to Westerville Road Improvements Project 🚲
    Improvements include lane reduction from 4 to 3 lanes and new sidewalks and paint-only bike lanes. Comments are due by February 28th. Suggested improvements would be to include protection for the bike lanes. See this link for more information and comment form.

  • Stop Fracking in Egypt Valley 🛢️
    From the Ohio Environmental Council:
    The State of Ohio is considering whether to lease thousands of acres of Egypt Valley Wildlife Area! Make your voice heard by submitting a comment to the Oil & Gas Land Management Commission’s official portal and select nomination number 24-DNR-0011 for Egypt Valley!

    Voice your concerns for our State Public Lands and reference the OEC’s public comment on our website for some inspiration! Submit a comment at: https://ow.ly/15Wj50UMWkq
