Good Works Columbus: April 8, 2024
Transit Columbus, COTA service meetings, Strong Towns, bike lane pop up
Intro
Hi everyone, happy Monday! If you haven’t heard there’s an eclipse today (I want to meet the person that isn’t aware) that you can view in parts of Franklin county and all across Ohio. You should definitely try to get to the path of totality if you can. After the eclipse you donate your eclipse glasses at any Columbus library branch, where they will send them to Latin America for the annular eclipse in October.
The weather is warming up and that means more opportunities to volunteer outside. If you can’t make it to an event this week there are plenty of other chances later this month to help out. Check out all the options happening throughout the month all around town for Earth Day.
If you have an upcoming event or a link you’d like to share for the newsletter, feel free to send suggestions.

Save the Date
Join the Care Economy Organizing Project in fighting for equitable childcare. The work of caring for our children and families is some of the most important work in our lives. Affordable, quality child care makes it possible for parents to go out and do what we do every day, knowing that the most precious people in our lives are in good hands. Yet, it’s some of the most invisible and undervalued work. It's time to invest in expanding affordable, quality child care, with living wages for the hardworking child care providers who care for and nurture our children.
