Appeal court backs Guernsey competition watchdog in case against JT and Sure

• Guernsey's competition watchdog has won a significant appeal in its long-running case against JT and Sure, with the Court of Appeal finding the telecoms operators were given a fair hearing.
• The Guernsey Competition and Regulatory Authority (GCRA) said the court had overturned an earlier Royal Court decision which set aside its findings.

HOW LONG? Waiting times hit all-time high as HSC gives itself more time for complaints

• Waiting times in Guernsey are the worst since current records began, with people facing record delays for operations, scans and other specialist appointments.
• The news comes just as health bosses prepare to scrap annual performance reports and give themselves 50% longer to deal with complaints from patients.

• Inpatient admissions rose 16% to 18,715 whilst formal complaints increased 27% to 189 in 2025 Emergency Department achieved 88% four-hour target compared to NHS England's 74%, with 10% conversion rate versus NHS's 23% Gastroenterology achieved 34% reduction in waiting lists through refined pathways and increased CT colonography scans by over 50% Outpatient and inpatient contract waiting times reached 61% against 95%
