Week of March 17th, 2025
If you’re reading this, take a breath, you’ve managed to survive another week. Hopefully you were able to do at least one thing you enjoyed this week. We hosted an Indian pizza party / joint birthday party at our apartment, and it was a delightful ray of light in what was otherwise a pretty bleak week. You have to take the wins where you can get them.

I’ve got a new piece up discussing what’s been going on with DOGE IS FOUR LETTERS (spoiler: we’re at the end of month one), what’s going on with WORK IS FOUR LETTERS, and what’s going on with me. I’m still sorting out what belongs here in the newsletter and what belongs on the site, but I think I’ve settled on this newsletter being a roundup of what’s published, rather than a lot of commentary (he says, after a full paragraph of commentary).
DOGE IS FOUR LETTERS

This week, I published conversations with a person working in Department of Defense finance and accounting; an attorney fighting for the rights that workers deserve; an Eligible Family Member working abroad with their Foreign Service Officer spouse, and a social scientist who gets out and on the ground supporting FEMA during emergencies. I hope you enjoy reading them, I’ve enjoyed publishing them.
OTHER NEWS
I’m (again) delayed on WORK IS FOUR LETTERS for reasons outlined in the Taking Stock post listed above, but I’ll be back for certain next week. As a consolation prize, if you’ve been looking for a new 10 Songs from me — a group that probably consists of, maybe, six people — I’ve got a new playlist with some fun Aussie rock, a great post-punk band from Lebanon, and some crunchy, fuzzy indie pop from Germany.

That’s it for this week. Next week, we do it all over again, but hopefully the weather’s getting nicer wherever you are.
Until then,
