The Meetings Will Continue
Tech News We All Believe Happened, Because It Shouldn't Have
Welcome to another installment of the globalGlob(**/*) newsletter. We're glad you're reading this and not binge watching The Office again.
From all of us at globalGlob(**/*), thank you for subscribing. And to those of you that haven't subscribed, you can do it right now. It's free everywhere reading is fundamental.
News From Less Reputable Sources
The globalGlob(**/*) can't report on every story, not in the summer. And certainly not in September. But we can tell you about all the stories other people reported, and make you think we reported them. Here are some of those!
- A new study shows it's better when that email is a meeting.
- According to the study, more meetings means more money. Which is why managers are always in meetings.

- Everyone's second favorite rabbit device has a new A.I. agent that doesn't need dedicated hardware to run.
- The Rabbit R1 was the first product from the startup, a dedicated device running an agent.
- The company now has its own agent that can run on a traditional computer, instead of selling you another hardware device you'll forget to charge and update.
- Most people who purchase rabbit devices are specifically looking for the tactile feel of a physical device. Only time will tell if this is a good move for the company.

- Qualcomm will bring official support to Linux for the Snapdragon X2 chips.
- A Qualcomm executive said, "For many years developers have asked us for one thing, Linux on Snapdragon." As a developer, I don't remember asking for that once.
- Drivers will be available later this year. But it's software, so maybe next year.

- Wired surveyed over 600 women in tech and the results will not surprise you.
- The women detailed how bad it is to work in tech. And how it's even worse working in tech as a woman. You know, because of all the biases, harassment, and dime-a-dozen sexism.
- Women are constantly being ignored and talked down to. And not because they're usually shorter than men.
- This one's hard to make jokes about, so remember that it's been a problem for a long time even though it doesn't have to be.
- To all the men out there, be better boyos.

Scoops From globalGlob.dev
The therapist Dr. Samanji is going above and beyond for her client who has past trauma from developing with AngularJS (don't we all). Dr. Samanji is learning everything she can for the treatment. No word if these are billable hours.
Therapist Unsure What A AngularJS Is, Or How To Help Developer Move Past Trauma It Caused | globalGlob(**/*)
Online therapist Dr. Samanji published a Reddit post asking developers to help her understand what an AngularJS is. She stated her client has some past trauma because of it, and seeks to understand how it can cause so many traumatic responses. Her client has mild-insomnia, hair loss, separation anxiety, and fear of cats. He screams at the sight of squirrels, but that's not related to the AngularJS debacle.
A new approach to LLM code generation has been proven to increase its quality by doing less work. A win-win for everyone. All it has to do is emulate human developers even more, by skipping something the humans also skip.
To Make Agents Act More Like Human Developers, A.I. Will No Longer Consume ReadMe Files | globalGlob(**/*)
Coding agents like Claude, Codex, and Bob are improving their code output by better impersonating the humans whose jobs they will inevitably steal. For a step in the right direction, they will no longer consume ReadMe files found in projects.
Log Level Debug
Log Level Debug is our weekly news roundup show from news around the world. Think of it as news globalGlob(**/*) would have had the scoop on if we weren't busy with other, more important stories.
In this week's Log Level Debug we roundup the tech news that Microsoft, Meta, and Google stopped talking about A.I. long enough to announce new hardware. But eventually, they talked A.I.
Memory Internals Nugget of the Week
A memory leak isn't always a bad thing. Sometimes the app needs to shed some memory, like when a person needs to step away from a problem. You take a walk to free your mind, but continue thinking in the back of your mind. The process uses excess memory to crash the system. Basically the same thing.
