Gil's Week #202005
This is the first ever newsletter for all the first subscribers (or curious future readers) to get a glimpse of how the newsletter will look like in the future.
What notable things happened this week
If there's anything relevant to highlight this week such as meetups/conferences/things that happened, I'll highlight them here.
- Attended London Python meetup - Learned about some interesting tools for upgrading python applications.
What have I been focusing on this week
Things that I have spent some time thinking about this week.
- Building this newsletter
URLs I found interesting this week
A few urls (imposing a limit of 3) with a little description of why I enjoyed them.
- are.na - A very interesting take on social networks, I haven't used it much yet, but I do like it's style, slow, focused and...novel.
Sound track of the week
A song that I have played a lot this week (I like metal, you've been warned)
FAQ:
Where does the number come from?
- It's the output of the command
$ date +%Y%V
it's the year + week number, year first, so that it's a naturally sortable kind of id to this time.
What is the template you're using?
Haven't really figured that out yet, I'll try out the css styles from plaintextproject and take it from there (CSS is not really my forte though).
See you next week!
