UPDATED BOOKSTORE HOURS FOR GHOULISH BOOKS
Sorry to send out another one of these emails so quickly after the last one, but we have an urgent schedule change I need to announce.
On Wednesday, San Antonio was hit with a very intense storm. Our town received over 7 inches of rain. There was flash flooding on the highway. Really scary stuff! Also impacted was our bookshop. The rain got in through the walls and then flooded from below, thoroughly soaking our carpet. Thankfully our inventory is mostly okay. We might have to throw away one or two bookshelves, and a few boxes, but it could have been a lot worse.
Our landlord is meant to take care of the carpet, and over a day later, we are still waiting for the maintenance team to come over and dry things out. It’s…very gross right now, and stuff is in total chaos. We cannot have the shop open, obviously. The plan is to remain closed until TUESDAY. Hopefully everything is cleaned up and dry by then.
Side note - we already had an appointment scheduled for this upcoming Monday to meet with a landlord of a different spot downtown in the city of San Antonio proper about possibly relocating the shop. Nothing is signed yet, so no use getting too excited, but it could be really cool. We saw the spot a few weeks ago and we love where it’s located. Great foot traffic, which is something we don’t have at our current location. Smaller than our current location, though. So, some pros and cons for sure. Anyway - no idea what’s going to happen there. I’ll update when I know more.
Until Tuesday, you can of course still shop on our webstore. We offer shipping, so anything on our site we can still send. We just can’t have customers inside the building while it’s in its current state.
